QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What sort of beers are you brewing?
We're dedicating two of our four fermenters to Brettanomyces - a really interesting and fun yeast strain that isn't often found in primary fermentation. With this strain, we'll add unique twists to classic styles, and convince you that Brett can make some really awesome and drinkable beers. We'll also brew seasonal selections on our pilot system and remaining fermenters - think dry hopped saison, cold brew infused sour mashed ale, chamomile wheat ale, and an amber - to round out our wild yeast options. Our tap list will be constantly rotating, and based on the whims of what's available and what we think is delicious.
What's the deal with the coffee?
Longfellows Cambridge is a new concept started by our friends, Alisha and Jesse. This dynamic duo takes over the taproom in the morning hours and dishes out espresso drinks, cold-brew, drip coffee, and pastries. We're really delighted to have someone utilizing the taproom in the morning, and to have the opportunity to have our morning cup of joe as soon as we walk in the door.
What are your hours?
Monday - 7:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. (coffee + pastry service only)
Tuesday through Friday - 7:30 A.M. to Midnight (beer starts at 11 A.M.)
Saturday - 8:30 A.M. to Midnight (beer starts at 11 A.M.)
Sunday - 8:30 A.M. to 10 P.M. (beer starts at 11 A.M.)
Do you serve food?
We utilize the Bring Your Own concept when it comes to food. There are many options available for take-out or delivery as well, so feel free to indulge in Cambridge's culinary options during your visit to Lamp. We also offer a selection of free snacks (goldfish, pretzels, peanuts, etc.) in the taproom, and often have pop-up food events during evening hours.
Do you have gluten-free options?
We are only allowed to serve what we brew on premise, and therefore we do not have gluten-free alcoholic options. We do have housemade sodas, kombucha, and cold-brew on tap for our gluten-free friends.
Do you allow outside alcohol?
While we do allow outside food to be brought in, we cannot allow alcoholic beverages of any kind to be brought into our brewery & taproom. This includes wine, beer, and spirits, and is against our licensing and permitting agreements.
Are you kid friendly?
While Lamplighter is a kid friendly establishment, we ask that you use your best judgement when planning a visit with children. At 7pm, we begin to follow a strict 21+ policy.
Are you dog friendly?
We love our furry friends, but unfortunately MA health code won't permit them in the taproom since we have a fully functional kitchen. Pups are welcome to come into the brewery retail area if you're just grabbing beer to go, but they cannot join you in the taproom.
Can you fill growlers from other breweries?
In accordance with MA state law, we can only fill growlers that are our own. We may also fill unbranded growlers that are 32 oz or 64 oz in size. We do not allow filled growlers and cans to be consumed on premise.
Do you take reservations in the taproom?
We do not - no exceptions. We maintain a first-come first-serve basis when it comes to seating at Lamplighter. If you're interested in bringing a large party to Lamplighter during our busy hours, please consider arranging a private tasting in the brewery. To do so, email Marina at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can you have live entertainment?
Sadly no. We're in a Business-A district, and that means we're not zoned appropriately for live music, DJ's, dancing, comedy shows, or talks. We hope to apply for another variance and change this as soon as we can, but meanwhile we'll be rocking out to some tunes on the speaker system and encouraging friendly conversations instead.
Are you hiring?
We're always looking for qualified and enthusiastic people to to join our team. Please send us a resume and cover letter (email@example.com) if you'd like to be considered for growler filler, bartender, or barback.
